Fixing damage caused by robots!

All right, Nate here with SimplySharp and we want to look at at this knife. Um, a couple things have gone on here. So, um, you can see these scratches down in here and then there’s a couple different bevel angles and then really we’ve got this condition right here. Um, so a lot of times this is called a bolster and a lot of times what we see is there’s some automated sharpening machines out there that really struggle. They can do a lot of interesting things in knives like that’s what you’ll see with a lot of these different angles and scratches here. But then this they really struggle with the bolster. Um, and the reason you don’t want this is now if you were to put this knife on a cutting board, you have a gap caused by that high point. So like this back couple inches of the knife isn’t going to make contact with your cutting board and you’re going to have a hard time cutting things, especially fine things like herbs, like celery, stuff like that. So we’re going to need to go ahead and fix that. Let me do that real quick. We’re going to use our trusty canned onion here. So, we’ve ground that back and now I can kind of fix this edge and uh and then sharpen it properly. And that way when I’m done, this is I need to go a little bit more. I can see, but when I’m done, this will be a nice flattened knife. So, you know what? You got a knife that’s got that problem or any other problems, you don’t need a new one. Just bring it to us. We’ll get them fixed up and sharpen for you. Thanks everybody.
