Hi everyone, Nate here with SimplySharp. It is a toasty day up here in Milton and uh today we have a pair of kitchen shears and we get these a lot. The question is, hey, can we sharpen scissors? The answer is absolutely. Here is a good little test that that we do. It’s just a plastic bag. Uh a lot of times the kitchen shears are cutting open plastic bags and these can actually be a little bit tough for scissors, but let me show you what we’re seeing with these. I’m trying to cut this. See, it’s just it’s just folding over. It’s not cutting anything. Um, so we’re going to get that sharpened up real quick and then let’s see what it looks like. Okay, so we do actually have an entire scissor sharpening machine that often we will need to use uh when it warrants it, especially with things like um fabric or sewing shears, but a pair of kitchen shears is actually pretty easy to sharpen on the same equipment we use to sharpen knives and most other items. It’s one of the reasons why we love these things. They’re very, very versatile. Um, but all I’m doing is using a Sharpie so that I can know if I’m getting the right angle that the manufacturer put on this edge. So, what I’m going to do is I’m going to run it across and make sure that I got all of that off. That’ll let me know I’m in the right spot. There we go. Just like sharpening a knife, we’re going to build up a burr. This can put a lot of heat into it, so I usually uh spray it down a little bit of water. There we go. Okay. So then the last little step is we take that bur that we built up off by spreading these apart. and push them together. And as we open it’ll pull that burr off. Just do a little bit of that and we’ll wipe it down. And let’s see how we did. All right. Plastic bag. Look at that. Cuts right through it. There we go. Knives sharpened. If you have knives, kitchen, garden tools, anything else that you need sharpened, you can come see us at firmers markets around town. You could drop us off at Nuts and Berries in Brook Haven or the um New York Butcher Shop in uh Sandy Springs. And then you can also go to our website simplysharpatl.com and you can book an athome appointment. Thank you everyone and have a great
