Nate has finally been asked to sharpen a spoon. He explains why he is not going to, what the garbage disposal actually did to it, and what can be done instead.
Hello everyone. It’s Nate here with SimplySharp and I am in Marietta, Georgia today and it finally happened. I have legitimately been asked to sharpen a spoon. Um, but more importantly, I’m actually not going to sharpen a spoon. The problem is it went in the dishwasher or not the dishwasher, the garbage disposal. And now it’s got these rough edges. It’s like, well, I think I can smoothen that out. We’ll see if we can do it. All right. So, my approach to this is basically just going to be to use uh some of the belts here to maybe take some of the rough edges off and then I’m going to just feel it and, you know, might use some finer belts just to smooth it out a little bit. But, I actually think this one will do it. Uh, for those of you that are sharpeners, I am using a older um Tisac A100 here and we’re going to give it a try. See what we can do. Never tried sharpening a spoon before, but we’re going to do it. Huh. I actually think that worked pretty reasonably well. Get this inside edge here a little bit. Heat. All right. So, there’s a little bit right here, but I mean, overall, this already feels a lot better. Um, it’s a lot better, really. Uh, there’s one or two spots here that seem to be some some deeper gouges, so I’m just going to work on those, too. But there we go. Sharpen a spoon.
